Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu
Clients will be picked up and driven to Samburu on the North of the Equator, south bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River some of the animals and vegetation are a little different from those commonly found south. Take a few minutes relaxing before proceeding for the evening game drive which will bring you to the elephant bedroom tower. The Ewaso Nyiro River cuts through this reserve, drawing a big population of Kenya animals to the park. The river bustles with activity from its huge population of crocodiles.
Dinner and accommodation in a camp or lodge in Samburu
Day 2: Samburu whole day
Clients will have breakfast and then handed a packed lunch before proceeding for a game drive exploring this amazing game reserve. The park is home to the big five, Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo as well as Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Gravy Zebra, Baisy Oryx, Endangered Wild Dog as well as Pun cake Tortoise – Endangered. Samburu National Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness. Their story was made famous by the bestselling book and award-winning movie “Born Free”.
Return to the camp or Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Samburu to Aberdares
Leave Samburu early in the morning headed to the mountainous region in the central Kenya. Head straight to Aberdares national park and then have the whole day doing game drives. The Aberdares national park is home to elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker. Dinner and overnight at the foot of the Aberdares.
Day 4: Aberdares to L. Nakuru
Leave the central region headed to the Great Rift Valley region. Arrive at the Nakuru town’s most popular tourist destination the L. Nakuru national park. After lunch head to the national park for an afternoon game drive. Then retire back to your hotel /camp room for the night.
DAY 5: Nakuru to Masai Mara
After breakfast you will be driven down the escarpment via the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley. Arrival time at Masai Mara Game Reserve is just the mid-afternoon. After checking in, lunch and brief rest, an afternoon game drive is undertaken. Then return to the camp or lodge just before dusk for lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Optional activities include bush dinner and bonfires.
DAY 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast leave for a full day game drive with picnic lunch at Mara river migration bride area.
We’ll be up early to view the park’s abundant wildlife, said to the densest of any park in the region. This will be a day of unlimited game drives over the golden fields and past the distinctive acacia trees adorning these plains.
Be on the lookout for Africa’s Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. The birdlife is also abundant, and should you be here during the season of the Great Migration (July – October), prepare yourself to witness the largest movement of animals on the planet.
Then return to the camp or lodge just before dusk for dinner and overnight stay
Optional activities include, hot air balloon, bush dinner and a visit to Masai Village.
DAY 7: Masai Mara – Nairobi
The clients start the day with an early morning game drive where they might be lucky to witness hunting. At an extra cost a bush breakfast can be arranged followed by a visit to the Masai village to conclude the Masai Mara safari experience. We depart from our safari lodge/camp and take an en route game drive. Clients will then proceed to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. In Nairobi, they can choose their next destination or activity.
