Day 1: Nairobi – L. Nakuru

The wonderful 8 days safari begins after an early morning pick up by our driver guide from a Nairobi hotel or airport and depart to Lake Nakuru as clients enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Great Rift Valley escarpments. Entering the park, clients will proceed with game viewing en-route

An afternoon game drive after lunch encompassing the home of birds including the lesser and greater flamingos, African fish eagles, pelicans and many more not forgetting the famous black and white rhinos.

Dinner and overnight at a designated camp or lodge

Day 2: L. Nakuru – L.  Naivasha

After breakfast and with packed lunch, proceed with an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park searching for other game animals found in the park including, lion, leopard, flamingos, Egyptian geese, waterbuck, giraffe, hyena, buffalo, baboons, velvet monkeys.  An optional boat ride to the craters island can be done. Proceed to Naivasha in the evening for dinner an accommodation.

DAY 3: Naivasha – Masai Mara

After breakfast you will be driven down the escarpment via the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley. Arrival time at Masai Mara Game Reserve is just the mid-afternoon. After checking in, lunch and brief rest, an afternoon game drive is undertaken. Then return to the camp or lodge just before dusk for lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Optional activities include bush dinner and bonfires.

DAY 4: Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast leave for a full day game drive with picnic lunch at Mara river migration bride area.

This day is spent game viewing in the world renowned ecosystem, the Masai Mara National Reserve.  The game drives give you, the client, an opportunity to see at close range, Africa’s Big Five a packages of wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. Some of the wild animals to see here include Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers. The climax of the  trip here is the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October to December. Optional activities include, hot air balloon, bush dinner and a visit to Masai Village.

DAY 5: Masai Mara – Nairobi

The clients start the day with an early morning game drive where they might be lucky to witness hunting. At an extra cost a bush breakfast can be arranged followed by a visit to the Masai village to conclude the Masai Mara safari experience. We depart from our safari lodge/camp and take an en route game drive through the Masai Mara Reserve.  Clients will then proceed to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon.

Day 6 Nairobi – Mombasa

Mombasa is an 8 hour journey and therefore, you leave early in the morning after breakfast or take an hour flight. Arrival time is evening in the coastal town and you will have the evening to yourself in the warm climatic region.

Day 7 Whole day Mombasa adventure

Whist in the coastal town of Mombasa, you are spoilt for choices. You can have a day trip to Wasini Dhow and Dolphin Excursion – You’ll head out to the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park for a full day of swimming, snorkeling, sailing, bird watching… and of course dolphin viewing. Sailing on a traditional dhow with its distinctive slanting triangular sails – you’ll sit close to the waterline, taking in the playful sea creatures as they swim alongside, entertaining your group. This very full nautical tour features an appropriate seafood lunch.

Or you could have a Mombasa City Tour – This half-day tour will immerse you in the international history and flavors of this culturally rich city. With its Arabic, Portuguese and Swahili cultures, Mombasa offers busy markets, ethnic neighborhoods and a distinctive heritage to explore. Don’t forget to take in the ancient structure of Fort Jesus with its incredible history.

Then later in the afternoon head down to the beach for swimming and relaxation.

Dinner and overnight in your hotel.

Day 8 Mombasa then Airport

If time allows, depending on your flight, you can go to the beach in the morning for some swimming before the connection van takes you to the airport mid-day for the flight back to Nairobi or to your next destination.
